One of the handier new abilities of Siri is to ask it to identify songs using Shazam That said, if you don't make a note of that song at the time, you'll probably forget it again in the future. Cult of Mac points out that you can check your Shazam history in iTunes. Developed by Zendesk, a customer service platform that started in Copenhagen, Answer Bot is designed to help companies create customer relationships that are more personal and productive. Businesses can customize Answer Bot to answer and assist customers that visit their website without having to develop a customer service bot from scratch. When Answer Bot is unable to answer a customer's request, customers are redirected to one of the businesses' support agents.
About the only thing Asimov gets right in this entire litany of fantasy are the population numbers, which are pretty much in the ballpark. But then accurate predictive modeling for population growth has been available for well over a century now, and was certainly available to Asimov.
However Asimov's robots do not have free will. Rather they are governed by three, and later four, basic rules. These rules cannot be broken and form the foundation of robotic society. The laws pretty much set the robots up as servants to humanity, in that they cannot harm humans, they must obey humans, and they cannot harm themselves. The fourth law is actually called the zeroeth law, which says that they cannot harm, or through inaction, allow harm to come to humanity. The catch is because this law overides all of the other laws, which means that it overrides the first law about the prevention of harm to humans. Therefore, speculatively considering, if a human were to go about and cause harm to humanity, then the robot could step out and kill them.
I think they must be an autodidact, because the knowledge and methods in this domain grow fast. They should also have a great deal of passion and perseverance for long-term goals, as insanely great” technology takes trial and error. If they constantly seek to learn, and experiment while expecting to fail, they can learn from those mistakes and ultimately succeed where others give up.
Craniofacial surgery is a surgical sub-speciality of Plastic Surgery that involves rearrangement of skull and facial bones in order to address facial deformities. Currently, this surgery is performed through extensive scalp and intra-oral incisions needing bone exposure for osteotomies, jointly performed by Plastic Surgeons and Neurosurgeons. The proposed invention utilises a flexible ariculated robot that enters the face via the mouth (minimal access), and navigated by the surgeon using stereotactic navigation technology. Osteotomies are done by an inbuilt high speed drill and the entire robot trajectory is pre planned using computer software, with the surgeon being able to fine control the robot's path, using a joystick on a Robot-Computer interface.
Titled Visit to the World's Fair of 2014,” Asimov's op-ed runs down what an attendee should expect to see at this year's World's Fair, which apparently is the most antiquated notion in the entire piece. Rightly so, given that Asimov was one of the world's foremost thinkers before his death in 1992.
