Postby wolfebane » Mon Jan 31, 2005 5:08 am

Ok i got the REPACK and theres a few other games i would like to add to the managerie.......problem is finding the games with all the proper files in them.....games like ( and i hope i dont catch poop for this lol)
Xmen vs street fighter
Knights of valour superheroes
a r0m file called nwarr ( cant remember the real name)
and i have one last question

Why is it that my 3d games ( erghiez, tekken, SFEX, etc.) are so bloody slow and the sound is doubled ?

thanks for reading this and remember, if you dont know half the games on mame you just arent from the old school......

why do people still use mame32k 0.64... mame32k 0.90 is way better it holds a lot more mame roms.. some people in the net play tripp out if you are using a 90 and not 64 its the same thing lol

Whats the point? All of those games work in regular old mame, and you can get the roms anywhere. Nwarr is Nightwarriors: Darkstalkers revenge. 3d games need raw CPU power, plain and simple. You need about 2.4Ghz (P4) to play Killer Instinct at full speed, and 3.0+ to play KI2. I have an Athlon 64 3800+ which is over 4Ghz in P4 terms, and its STILL not enough to play Tekken 3 at full speed. California Speed runs at about 2fps. You're gonna need 20Ghz for that.

3D game emulation is still in the infancy stages. The sound is crappy (usually) and the game runs a little slow (almost always), but if your computer is beefy enough you should play alright. For example, Battle Arena Toshinden runs a little slow, and sometimes the characters stutter when they talk, but it doesn't sound horrible. To mirror this, my Plasma Sword looks great and plays as fast as I expect it to on an arcade cabinet, but the sound skips, echos, stutters, and blares. All we can really do is wait for emulation to become more sophisticated.

:drinking: :drinking: personally there is no point for me to use .90 cause its rare to find anyone who has any of the roms and even more to find someone who wants to play.

The reason people use Name 64 (including my self) is not due to ignorance all the time. i find close to 90% of people in kaillera use 64, so unless i wanna play alone most of the time i have to use 64, also the fact that for some reason 0.9 doesn't seem to recognise gamepad.. and i'll be damned if i'm gonna play over kaillera with a keyboard. aside from that 0.9 if a far superior emulator.. i wish the gamepad worked properly and that everyone would change their versions.
I like fighting games more that normal people do.
