I notice that certain arcade games, like Pacman (Midway) and Arkanoid (both World and Japan), say that they are 2 player games, albeit where each player has a separate turn at eating ghosts/breaking blocks.
However, when you try to play them online, only player 1 can play the game, and not any subsequent players who are connected to player 1 when it's their turns to play. Is this because the original arcade machines for these games only had 1 joystick, and not 2 joysticks on the same machine? As a result, when Kaillera's netplay code tries to find player 2's controls, its fails to do so, resulting in player 2's not having controls?
I don't know if the above is necessarily a bug in Kaillera's netplay code, but does that mean that said games would need to have mods similar to Marvel vs Capcom's "4 Players for Kaillera," so that 2 players can play in the same game, albeit separately, since those 2 games make both players play separately?
Just an interesting observation I noted...
