i thought intel was better until i saw at most webpage benchmarks that people use amd mostly to test things like videocards, i asked myself...why??
benchmarks showed better performance with amd than intel, i thought at first instance that people used a trick or things like that to make amd look better,
but i decided to made by myself a personal test, and now i definitely agree with these people.
for example, an amd athlon 1000mhz is faster than a pentium4 1.4 ghz at rendering images on 3d programs like 3dsmax, after rendering some images, the amd showed to be about averaged 2 seconds faster than the p4, and even faster rendering different things, now testing games p4 was faster than that athlon as it should be since it´s 400mhz faster than the amd. (using same video card and pc specs of course)
now i compared a p4 1.60 ghz with same athlon 1000mhz and the rendering times where equal for most images, others were rendered little faster on the amd prossesor. but games of course were faster on the p4 since it´s 600mhz faster.
finally i could test equal prosessors: athlon 1700+ and a p4 1700, games were same performance i noticed, but at rendering, the amd was still better, much better, also i read amd use to be more stable than pentium p4 for this kind of heavy apllications.
then, i conclude:
amd is as good as intel for games but much better for heavy applications,(according to many testing websites, amd is even better than intel for gamming), cheaper and stable( i really didn´t notice any overheat problems, maybe that was related to older amd processors).
intel si weaker for heavy aplications, as good as amd for gamming, more expensive
i definitely would recomend AMD
give AMD a point for the poll.
