There has been talk of a Guilty Gear being playable on Kaillera, especially with the news of reload coming out on PC. After looking at the SDK, it seems to me that this may not be possible.
In a perfect world, we could have the Guilty Gear source code, and compile it with some Kaillera function calls, and be merrily on our way. This, obviously, is not possible.
Another option, which may or may not be possible, is to create a program that can control Guilty Gear. Something that could act as an interface between Guilty Gear and our controllers. This program could be kaillera enabled. This, too, seems flawed, because we would still have no way to control the speed of the game. So, if there is more than a 0 ping on either side, the game would become immediately desynced.
The only solution to this I could think of is to make the game run in a virtual machine (Sort of a PC Emulator on your PC
If anybody can think of a workaround for this, let me know. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the whole idea is probably is not possible. Let me know if that is not the case.
Another thing, does anybody know anything about Multi Theft Auto? This is a program used to play GTA3 on the internet, but it doesn't seem to have released any source code.
How does this program deal with the above mentioned speed problems? Does anybody know if GTA's scripting language can cover this, and they used that? Or if they used some other technique?
