I only have so many games. If you want more images from different games, name them and tell me where I can download them. Otherwise, stfu. The comment that I contradicted myself is ridiculous; I used as many games as I have; most of them happen to be from Capcom and it's pretty hard to find download sites these days.

And for the record, God knows I don't own Microsoft. That was simply Demus coming on a server using my name, and I'm sure anyone with brains knows I wouldn't say such a stupid thing. In fact, I can't understand why someone would propagate such a stupid rumor because it makes no sense and no one in their right mind, unless they're trying to make fun of someone, would say such a thing. Why do I have to defend myself against such stupidity?

Hey Demus, its good to know that u like the one i did. I was gonna post the file as a jpeg also, but i noticed that when i made it jpeg, the color looked more Blurry. so i zipped it so it could be seen more crisp. But you can make it or both versions into jpeg. That would be cool. Thanks.

some ppl have preferences , but they all seem the same to me, but i do think that there is the possibility that those formats might make compatibility isues, not all aplications can open them, yet i beleive al can open jpegs that ive seen, but its cool, and thanks for stealing the work from me i had planned to ask him if he wanted that aliasing removed from it, but i think it actually gives it some kind of nice effect, and im not sure but i think mame is very pixelated when played online, btw could someone please tell me if mame has 2xsai immplamented yet? i love this feature of waks and other than waks shot factory, winamp jukebox(theres nothing greater than owning someone while listening to that i hate you song by 3 days grace in mvc ) and the overal visual audio effect of waks as well as the flexability to oc the 68k proc, i would use mame if it had this feature. i was just wondering.

Some corrections to some people's posts:

Jpeg, png and gif are not lossless compression. Bmp and I believe tga are. Both IE and Mozilla/Netscape/Firebird can open the png format. The point of which format to save in is mostly moot, as it's going to end up on a webpage anyway.

Final Burn Alpha has HQ4X which is the most superior edge-based anti-aliasing algorithm in any emulator, save probably LQxX, but I can't tell any differences between the two. It beats bilinear and trilinear filtering techniques, but then again they aren't trying to achieve the same effects. The downside to HQ4X is it eats up CPU power like nothing else so you probably won't be able to play with a high framerate. 2xSAI is crap compared to HQ4X.

You don't 24-bit something, as though it's a verb. I'm sure you know that if you have 16-bit source material and save it in a 24-bit format, you don't magically get 8 bits more precision. You can fake that, but it's not preferable.

BluePowerz: I seem to be hated by a small set of people on these forums, which happens to include you. And you're not innocent. And bringing up someone's personal life is probably the lowest kind of insult that can be made since from the internet, you know virtually nothing of someone's offline life. I'm sure this concept is beyond your grasp, though.

Kwaza: What program did you use to make the image? What format did you save it in? Some programs use blurriness as a form of anti-aliasing (albeit a very cheesy way of achieving the desired effect). It's the default I think in Photoshop.

For the confused: Aliasing means a lot of things, but we're most concerned about jagged edge aliasing ("jaggies" as known by some 3D companies).

The only filtering technique MAME uses is DirectDraw, which in some video card drivers uses bilinear filtering, which causes the blurriness in games.

PS: Why has no one commented on my image save the two people who, quite predictably, don't like it?

A name/logo will be chosen based on the submission as a whole. If yours doesn't get picked, it doesn't mean you had a bad name, or that you had a bad logo, it just means that overall we decided another submission was better.

This contest is not a judgment of your personal worth, it's a judgment of what you can bring to our project. It is a competition, but there's no reason why it can't remain civil. If you guys have pre-existing arguments or hostilities with each other, this is not the place to continue them.

Hopefully we can bring this thread back to some semblance of intelligent discussion and friendly competition. The only side I'm taking is the one that favors tranquility in the thread.

I'm just glad mystiq did what I asked first. Mystiq has been a good resource to kaillera. Soon as crispy thibult sobers up(haha joke, quit being a crispy chris and give kaillera some attention!!!) he's going to upgrade the forums to the newest version of PHPBB. Should fix the moderator issues i've been having.
