Christophe hasn't updated in years, but that doesn't stop people from making new client mods with new games, just like TFR used to do.
For example the last build posted on the site is Mame32k .67.
But you can download Mame32 More! .84 (which has kaillera support) and gives you all the games you were missing since then, plus all the fixes!
It has one glitch though, which is the missing sprites in a few atari games, but that's apparently a goof up on the part of the compiler, since the vanilla mame32 .84 doesn't have that bug.
Thanks for the reply. Y'know it's funny.... I fired up kaillera for the first time in like 6 months last night...didn't play anything just wanted to see what was happening, and you know what? People must not have heard about these new client mods because they are STILL using 0.64!! I mean WTF?? Do they not read what's happening on these forums? I saw like 12 people in a row using 0.64 and not ONE person using Mamemore! Can't understand what the hell is going on but if they are not ready to upgrade just think how much of a pain in the ass it is just to find someone who *does* have the latest client mod.
It's a shame really. One the major things that turns me off about the whole Kaillera scene is the fact that so many people are on all different emulators at one time. It's a joke. You host a game of Samurai Shodown on say, Kawaks, and someone joins in demanding you switch to mame, or vice versa....I wanna tell them "mojob YOU switch to *MY* emu beyotch!"
It really needs to evolve to the point where there is only one universal emu that works like a charm with kaillera. That's one of the aspecta that has me excited about Xbox Live and all the fighters coming this fall. It is broadband only, a universal platform and its interface is terribly user friendly and intuitive. If they came out with either a Samurai Shodown compilation disc or Super Puzzle Fighter II for Xbox Live I'd abandon Kaillera altogether. I also heard a rumor that Chris is in talks with the develpers of Xbox Live to bring an updated super-spiffy version of Kaillera to the Xbox.
O.K. that last part was a joke
