strange symbols replace game list? (and r0m missing error)

sometimes when i connect to a server using gens+ netplay, the games avaliable to play menu is filled by a lot of strange symbols, rather than an alphabetic list of games. this happens EVERY time i go to start a L.A.N. game, and is preventing me from using netplay to its full potential. anyone able to help or had similar problems?

Another problem i have is the 'this r0m is not avalible' error. even when two copies of the exact same r0m are used (and yes, they are named identically). any help at all would be hugely appreciated.

maybe its the emulator, I sometimes get that problem with gens plus. Try normal gens for kaillera and gens plus for offline gaming. If you get gens you want version 2.10 or 2.11, 2.12b is the source release.
